Pond update

It's got plants, finally! We're still debating how shady it will be once the shed is up (the frame is casting the long shadows), so we may be adding another lily.

This whole pond thing is a heck of a lot easier than a reef - the shop people looked at me like I was crazy until I explained where I was coming from. (Which made sense, as several of them had kept SW in the past) That, and you just put the plants in - and since this shop pots everything, the flowers on the lily stay there! Woo-hoo! Instant gratification for once.

Now, does anyone know protocol for adding a couple of fish? As in, wait a week? 2? Just plop them in? I'm not in a hurry, but a couple of fan-tail goldfish would be about right. (Not many - it's a little pond.)

Thanks,
Danielle

I just plopped my Koi in last year and they did great until I cleaned it this spring did a huge water change and forgot dechlorinator (have been using ro/di on the reef for several years and didn't even think about it). Two died by the next day, the wife replaced them the next day and all are doing great now.

That's a great looking pond, good job!

As for the fish, I float mine just to minimize the temp shock and I add some water now and again to adjust the PH.

Here's a pic of my pond. I started off with a small preform and then built this guy last year.
