you may want to go w/10000k bulbs also for clams w/actinic supliments. for color+depth penetration. I have 150w on my tank and the clams are fine but they do tend to like the warmer colors (10000k) JMHO.that being said...you may still be ok w/14k...mabey place them up a little higher depending on the type of clam. I know a lot of people like the blue or cooler colors. its kinda a trade off. a little less growth but it looks really cool....now I`m even confused...lol

I would stick to the 14k you dont need actinics,I run 20k and have way to many clams and they all do great 10k tends to look yellow, you can get by great with 13k or 14k,I would also consider the 250 better par in general.

That light you posted a pic of looks like the Current USA Sunpod- I have this over my 12 gal nano and I think it's a very nice light- comes with little legs and sits over your tank or you can hang it. I wouldn't worry about the plastic support either.
However, if I had a bigger tank like you have, I'd want a fixture with actinics so you can have the dawn/dusk effect. Just something you may wanna consider. Otherwise the light fixture you picked out would work and I'd go 14K however 250w, if they make it, is what you will want.

ok, im about 99% sure im going with these lights. for future reference, do you have a list or somthing that explains the needs of different clams, like which need more light, which should be on the sand bed, and what should be on the live rock?thanks, id really appreciate it.
