worried about my clams behavior

Ok so this is my derasa doing very well have had this specimen for about 3 months.


This is my tear drop maxima I have had for about a month and doing well


This is my crocea that i have had for about two months this is the way it looks now most of the time. it does come out occasionally but not like it use to, it stays mostly clamped up.

This is what it did look like for the first month and a half or more that I have had it.

Any assistance. it is still very much attached and do not see any pyramid snails. I do regular water changes and my readings are ammonia 0, Nitrates 5.0, nitrites 0, ph 8.3 calcium right at 420 and alk 10. not sure what else cold be causing the problems. As far as livestock I have:
a shoal of anthias
flame hawk
mimic tang
dejardini sail fin
fiji foxface
six line wrasse
2 black and white occi's
6 fire shrimp
mandarin goby
blue spot jawfish
midas blenny
Bellus angel
The only new additions but should not have made the difference as it was doing it prior to the additions is the bellus angel yesterday and the midas and blue spot jawfish. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking it was too high as it is very near the top but was doing great as you see in the pic for over a month and a half.

I receved your pm in the other forum. I do have a some questions:

what type of lighting do you have?
what k are the bulbs
what watt are the bulbs?
how old are the bulbs?
if they are new, at what time did you replace them in the time frame of the clam being in your tank?
what tempurature does your tank range from night to day?
at what height in the tank is the clam placed?
did it secure itself at the level that it is at or did you glue it there?

Secured itself and is still secure...has not loosened its footing at all ( so I am hoping that is a good thing)

Woah!!!! I just tested my water and Yikes my nitrates are through he roof. they are reading 80. I do not have any saltwater mixed tonight but will be making some first thing in the am. Not sure what would have caused this. The scary thing is I just did a 20 gallon water change yesterday. I do not normally check those that often and just a week ago they were 5.0. Hmmmm.

I just started using my new RO unit and wondering if that is a factor. i will go and check it right now with the little bit of premixed salt I have
