Those beautiful clams you see in pics all the time...

What's the deal with those? Hard to keep? What are the requirements? Anyone keeping them?

Hard to keep yes the small ones will require Phyto feedings which can pollute a tank if not carefully controlled, now the bigger ones over 3 " just need good strong lights I use MH lighting, good clean water is a requirment also,if you want good growth I recommend a calcium reactor to help with shell growth.Clams are one of my favorites.

Did you keep these all in one tank?
What was the set up for that? (i.e What can you keep with clams, MH lighting? Location in tank)

Not in one tank, have 4 tanks but most of them were in my 100 gal, I had a mix of corals in there just about everything you can think of and the clams did fine
just have to watch the fish you add, some can eat the clams if not careful or at least pick on them so they dont open up.The clams kept my water at zero Nitrates they suck it up.All I had on the tank was MHs a protein skimmer a refuge and supplemental VHO lights.
