I think the reddish color was a combination between the color of it's flesh and the tiny bit of symbiotic algae surviving under two old T5 strips.

Uh...I'm gonna need to see a pic of this. I have a purple crocea and I've seen blue ones also but I've never seen a red one. I've seen flame scallop but I never a red clam.

lol, a picture of something that happened in the past. You may need to borrow Napoleon Dynamite's time machine, but I can provide you with the address of the store.

For the last time, I can discern the difference between this:

and this:

If anybody else would like to ask me if I have a picture, I assure you the answer will be no. Tomorrow the answer will be no also.

I'm thinking about asking the mods to delete this thread, since nothing ever came of it, but it is hilarious when it pops up every week or two with someone asking the same question.

This is a maroon crocea, it looked a lot like this:

oh lighten up neuty.

we "believe" you. it's like the old saying, "if a tree branch breaks in the woods and no one sees it...did it happen?"

I'm sure the person who bought it is part of some online "reef club" somewhere in this universe. He's just keeping it to himself so that he can make you fee like you're the only one who's seen a real unicorn. hahaha. just kidding! we're just messing with you. see...we're laughing too...well at you at least.

10 years ago i bought a maxima that was about 3/4 of an inch long that was gold and deep red/maroon it did not survive. lay off this guy, they are out there and i don't think everybody was just being curious in this thread. i think he was being mocked by at least one person.

if you ever end up in montgomery check out aquarium fantasies. i've been to stores from florida to north georgia and jim has the best variety i've ever seen. take your checkbook, he can be a little pricey on some items but his stuff always seems to live after i get it home. surprisingly, his clams are reasonable (i paid a premium for an 8 or 9 inch blue maxima but you can get a squamosa for around 50 bucks). he keeps ora frags and has a lot of large colonies that he will frag from.
