Questions about clam placement

I have a squamosa clam... i have him positioned about half way up the tank... he is on some rocks.. kinda setting pretty good... but he can't really grow out wide because the rock will block him...

What shoud I do, he needs to be placed high enough for good light so I can't sit him on the sand... well he just not grow, I don't have a calcuim reactor but I do maintain the calcium between 400 and 500... I check it once weekly...

Any suggestions for him...??

Anyone have any ideas.. I have him in my 29 and he is a good attraction... I don't want to put him in the sand cause I only have 130 W of PC lighting... he is about halfway up and enjoying himself.. if he seems to like it there should I leave him there event though it doesn't look like he has room to grow..

Casey... a few times i have had to place him on the rock.... he doesn't sit perfectly level and sometimes he gets scared and closes fast due to shrimp or other various stuff..

so right now he is still on the rocks... but not perfectly level but still getting light in all the areas he needs.. and he is open... should I just leave him as is, if he is fully open then it isn't bothering him to be like that ..

He wouldn't be ok on the bottom i don't think, I have a good bit of flow on the bottom to keep out the detritus and other various stuff.... plus my lighting...

Just leave him as is..

Sorry to ask again but want to be sure..
