Poor Baby Clam Mantle is Gone???

Well here is the thing that happened. I have a clam that is about 1 1/2 -2" in size and I caught the flame angel nipping away at him. I got the flame angel out (boy was that fun). The flame angel has been out of the tank for a about a week now and the clam is opening up his shell again but the edges of the mantle are not extending. If the angel ate them will they grow back? Also, is there anything else I can do for the poor clam??

Sorry to be bringing this one back from the dead - but did I just read right that Angels are not good tank mates for clams?

(stalks around glaring and swearing)

Guess I'll have to do a Clamfugium, huh?

Argh!

Ugh - well thanks for the warning, Casey.

I had a coral beauty and pigmy angel and could never keep clams very long. I took them out and now the clams and mantles are just fine
