I must be color blind because I see bleaching corals and clams in that pic graffyn.
I guess Casey and Johnny had better eyesights.
Graffyn good luck on your corals and clams.

I got a couple of clams with pics. I have 14 clams in my 180g right now. I love these guys. I wish I had pics of them but I don't have a camera.
Here are my 2 croceas.
All my clams are now in the 180. Teardrop or vietnamese clams are very hard to keep and I believe it is due to unhealthy collecting practices. I had a beautiful tear drop clam and it did great for about 6 months and went into decline and that was that.

Casey, Thanks... I have about 6 large fish, they make a lot of ....... I only feed them or the tank however you want to look at it with KoralVitF from clamsdirect or I alternate with a mixture of DT's, Tahatian blend, and Chromaplex/Phytoplex. I feed about 2-3 times weekly. Otherwise I keep the calcium up around 450ppm+ and alk. ~11.2dKh. pH I try to keep as stable as I can as clams are notorious for going bad if there are pH swings too large. Mine stays around 8.1-8.3
I know what you mean about nitrates and since I use an ecosystem this tank never even cycled with a nitrate spike. They always run at 0.

I have to add to the list. It's not as impressive as most of the previous, but it's my first clam. A T.maxima about 2". Photo taken just after feeding:

Thanks Sue and MT. I like it too. I bought it blind over the net and I am pleased although it's a bit smaller than I want. T'was a bit on the brown side when I got it, but it has colored up nicely. If this critter continues doing well that I will likely invest in one or two more over the next year. Oh, no! Did I say I'm going to spend more!? Back to Reefers Anonymous I go.
