Don't know, but I'd definately like to know. Do they need to be 'fed'

Dont know. Cant find anything on the web about them. Does anyone know the latin name?

With enough of them, yes you would see a drop in nitrates; but they will need to be supplementally fed, raising nutrients, and causing nitrate problems.

You would need dozens of them to see a difference.
