New Clam

I got a new 3" Squamos clam. Looks like it is doing ok, however one side of the mantle is fully extened and has the nice bumps on it, but the other side is not out all of the way. Near both ends the mantle is out a little bit but in the middle it is not out at all. Should I reposition it? I have a Derasa clam right next to it and it is doing fine. My lighting is two 175w metal halide 10k bulbs. Does this sound bad?

One thing to look for is gaping. If the hole where it draws in water is wide open, then it is stressed. In normal circumstances, it will be little more than a slit. When I got my crocea, it gaped for a couple of days, but now he's as happy as...well...a clam

I just took some pictures this morning and will get them up hopefully today. I don't have internet at home so I have to try and do this in secret at work.
