Thanks for the great comments...
That tank was set up in July of 2003. There have been only a few changes since then. First, I lost my large
green monti cap, a couple of colonies of monti digi and my favorite clam, the squamosa. Long story short, the two new maximas showed up with pinched mantle. after 3 weeks in quarantine with fresh water dips, they looked okay to go into the display. They were in the display for just 3 days when the first died. The second followed 4 days later. My Squamosa, that I had in a 20 gallon for two years and then in the 75, caught the PMD and died as well. The three croceas were not affected.
In any case, the death of the clams, coupled with the fact that the cleaner shrimp pulled the mantles under the reef, caused a nutrient explosion and I lost some corals. There is now a large
green slimer where the green cap was. All of the monti digis that perished are growing back from the encrusted base and are about 3" tall. The tank is back on track and is looking good.
Thanks again.
