I had a coral beauty and purple tang in my 75 gallon and introduced a crocea clam in August that I won at the ARC meeting. I have not seen any problems between the two. I have, however, caught the coral beauty nipping at my elephant ear mushroom, which gets very unhappy (no real damage, though).
In reading other replies in the past, I think that you may describe a species behavior, however, like stereotypes, there always seems to be the exceptions. I would look for more comments from the gallery to draw a conclusion than just from mine.
Cheers,
Mark
