wanted to know what you think of keeping a clam in a 64WAtt 24 gal aqua pod? if i keep the clam at the top of the rock which would be about 4" from the top of tank . are there any species that can thrive in that light ?

I've been thinking about this and I dont' think I would do it.
If you could get another 60W or so above that tank I think you would be just great, but I don't think I would try it with what you have now.

Hey Wiskey...what about in my 125?? I have the 4 110w - VHO's. If I kept it high up (maybe 8" from the top of the tank) would it be ok? Just wondering...

How often do you replace the bulbs? What's your photoperiod? How do you have the 4 foot bulbs positioned over the 6 foot tank?

I am not sure on the LUX or PAR. The bulbs are staggered as shown...
Most likely I would put the clam in the middle of the tank...high up...

Sorry, I replace the bulbs about every 6 to 8 months and the photoperiod is 10 hours...but can be increased.

Hmmm, I think if you got a larger derassa (Above 3") and you put it up higher under the 4 VHO tubes you could probably get away with it. These clams like to be in the sand though, so it may take some creativity to get it to stay up on the rocks.

Since your going with MH eventually, it's probably best to wait.
