Have always read and been told to have my tank established for a year or so to give it time to be stable enough for a clam. Just the "better safe than sorry" mentality I guess. Although I have considered a very small one for my nano tank but still worried about stable water quality.

I am not sure to be honest. When I found out that I had to wait a year or so, I stopped looking and researching them. Something along the colors of the one missionsix posted, the blues. Don't really care for the browns.

Crocea would be a good long term nano clam as they max out at right around 6" Maximas reach up to 14", it just takes them a long time to get that big.
