Just a pic
Just thought I would post a pic of a couple of my clams. I have gotten all of them from the same local store, I believe they are all ORA raised clams. Next on my list is a teardrop.
By the way is their a thread that tells how to post pics. I can't figure out how to post more than one per post.

Thanks for the link Casey. I had looked at the FAQ but didn't see anything about posting pics, guess I missed it. Now for another question, is their a rule on pic size. I used 800x600 because that is normally what I use to email pics to the parents.
Since I'm posting I might as well add another pic.
Thanks,
Doug

Doug,
Very nice clams
Just so you will know. ORA does not culture clams Up until a few months ago they imported all their clams from the Marshall Island Farm but just months ago, they purchased the farm so now it is owned by ORA and co-partner with one of the men that run the farm.

Very nice Casey, wish I had that many ricordia. I currently use PS Elements to resize my photos and it does a good job. I 'll have to take a look at the free proram you listed.
Barry, thanks for the info. I did word that wrong, I meant that they came from ORA, I really had no idea if they actually raised them or just imported them. Hey, now that they cut out the middle man, shouldn't they get cheaper. Maxima's have always been $50+ it seems but locally even the derasa and squamosa or that price. I'm going by the petstore tomorrow, he said he may have some teardrops. I never seem to make it onto your site in time to get one.

Doug,
That is fine, just wanted you to know about where they came from. Have seen a lot of people post on different forum thinking that ORA is culturering the clams.
Wish it would cut out the middle man, but it hasn't. ORA has cut distribution to many importers, now them (ORA) and only one west coast wholesalers are getting these clams and they both sell them to LFS and etailers so we still have that middle man.
1. Farm
2. ORA and West coast wholesaler
3. LFS and etailer
4. Customer base.

Ok, picked up a teardrop yesterday. He is around 6" and I paid $60 for him. Hopefully in the future he will get some colored ones in. He had a great selection of clams yesterday, every kind except gigas. I would have loved to have gotten a couple but I don't want a divorce in my near future.
