is my new gigas ok?
does he look ok to the experts out there. he is under 2x250w 6500k iwasakis, and 1x400w 20k ushio. plus 360w vho actinic sup. just curious if he looks ok. mind you i have had him for a whopping day

The mantle will extend a little past the shell once he settles in, but not nearly as far as most clams, like maybe 1/4-1/2 inch. The mouth will probably always stay open in that fation though, when I first got mine I thought it was gaping, but not for this speices.
The one on the right is a gigas

yeah he is the third, my first was actually a T. Crocea, i have had it for around 3 months and it is doing great. just picked up a small squamosa a few weeks ago, it is doing well also. i am using Phyto, and oyster eggs to feed them. in addition to the lighting.

Cool Im sure they love the feedings,just keep an eye on your water quality,Im a clam lover and at one time had 34 of them in my tank

Nice addition! Looks pretty healthy to me! I don't think we have to worry about it getting enough light.

yeah my feedings for them are a little more rare than most.... then croea has done great with very few feedings, just trying to keep from overdoing it.
