holes in clam mantle

Help the otherday I saw two little round white things on the clam more towards the center of the clam. took pictures. They don't probably show much of anything. then it seemed like one fell off. it left an area with no color on the clam (white spot) just now I found a hole in the clam. What could be doing this? I was just going to be transfering this guy in the next week to a different tank but I'm not sure what this is.

Don't know what that is,but could be a piece of dirt sand or something that fell their.Thats why I only have certin gobbies that sift only hovering over were it got it,not the ones that swim around droping it all over the place. When something lands in a clam in can bleach that area.

um well unfortunetly I can rule out sand since it was bigger then the mix I have. It was about tripple the size I would say.

salt maybe. I have had salt creap fall on corals and burn holes. Now I try to be more care and keep the creap at bay.

I am also not sure. How long have you had this clam? Had it been healthy and growing before?

Salt creap is a posibility as Jena mentioned, so is something eating it, have you checked during the day and night for parasites? Does it seem to be getting larger? Does it seem to be healing up?
