Got me a new clam!

Well .. I just bought a new clam for my tank .. its a blue Maxima .. .. he is very nice looking but I would like to know if he would be better on the sand .. or the rocks .... I have 2 250w HQI on a tank so I dont think lighting will be an issue ...

Where should I place this guy?

Maximas prefer the rocks. Just keep an ey on him tho; if they don't like where they're placed, they'll let go and tumble to a different spot. Sometimes they will end up on the sand upside-down -- a bad thing.

Any pics?

I agree, I have mine on the rockwork and he seems plenty happy where he stuck himself. I had him about 4 inches to the left, but he sortof scooted himself to where he is now and is firmly stuck there.

Pics!

Great looking clam!

It looks like it may be crocea tho. It's practically the same (except for potential size) as a maxima if it is.
