First Clam

I got a crocea clam a couple weeks ago. (well I think that it is a Crocea) Everything has been great, looks great been open almost all the time. My clown has taken to hosting it. He sits on the mantle all the time. My question is at times his mantle is exteded so far that it looks like a flower pettle comming out.the mantle will stand almost straight up. is this normal? should I be worried?

No anemone in the tank. I had a sea hatian but I think it was not the best choice for my tank. I need to order a RBTA no salt water store by me.
