Does my crocea look normal?

Okay he is all mantle. He doesn't gape but frankly there isn't much tissue on either side of the openings. Most clams I see have alot of space around the openings but not mine. My mh are about 7 months old and I am replacing them with xm10000k very soon. I wonder if it is doing this because of the crappy coralife bulbs? It has good color and responds well to movement. You can see in the second pic that there isn't much tissue for it to open it's shell anyway, is that normal. The shell is about 4 inches long and the mantle 7-8.

almost looks as if it is stretching to the light. How high up in the tank is it?

4 inches under water. mh are 6 inches above that. I am thinking it's the bulbs. I wish I never bought them, but at the time I needed them now and bought what the lfs had. He said they were good but mh usually last longer. I know xm's do.

If he is responding well to movement, I wouldn't worry too much. It can be cloudy for weeks in the real world.

Mine does that every couple of days, doesnt look like much around the holes but then after he wiggles around a bit and settles down again he stretches back out sideways and looks perfectly normal again for days on end.

It doesn't look bad at all,.. when you put the new bulbs in you may find that he doesn't do that as much anymore,.. but be sure to acclimate to the new bulbs.
