crocea injury?

Today I looked at my crocea and noticed a pinch in the mantle I examined the underside and there is a small circular patch of tissue that looks as if it has been eroded.It is darker than the surrounding tissue,and no other parts of the mantle or any other clams are effected.The clam is very responsive to shadows and mantle extension evrywhere else is great.There is no mucus or slime.

It looks like it is a little "pinched" but sometimes my clams(crocea) will do that, then a little later, it's back to normal.

How long have you had the clam? Have you added any other clams lately(besides this one)?

It's definately an injury.I have had this clam since Christmas.Also, amphipods are picking at the wound and irritating it further.

After looking more closely, it looks like it could have been stung.

I don't know about the Amphipods picking at it though, that doesn't sound good.
