clams and fish

Ok I want to get a clam(s) so I was thinking about removing lemon peel from tank and replacing with another yellow fish (grandson's favorite).
A few people on TRT recommended yellow Tang as being Reef Safe.
But in this section I've read Tangs may not be compatible with clams.
Are they ? If not are there any yellow fish that are? Thanks Peter

lots of fish like to nip at clams. tangs are ussually good candidates but they have been known to nip clams. most of the time it starts out accidental. they are trying to scrape off algae and get a bit of mantle. from then on they think they are tasty.

as for yellow fish that are clam safe. what size tank do you have? if you are thinking tang than a female Genicanthus melanospilos may fit the bill. not totally yellow, but mostly yellow.

I have a Derasa and a Squamosa clam, with my yellow and blue hippo tang. They do fine with each other. I haven't had any problems with them.
