My clam's shell look's like it had substrate piled in the crack's of it's shell as it did when i first set it four week's ago. Upon closer examination it looks like the shell is raw like a sore. The clam seems to be fine; great color and fully extended under MH lighting. I have been watching during darknes and removed a small hermit crab. The crab didnt seem to be doing any damage but it's hard to see what he might have been doing. I have hermit's and snails ( Margarita, turbo, and 2 bumble bee) as clean up with a
emerald crab also. The clam is also somewhat close to a bubble tip hosted by a
Percula clown, but the bubble tip has not moved since the clown hosted. My 100 gal system is 6 month's new, but my water has been stable for some time. Calcium is at 450, Ph 8.2, KH 214 ppm, nitrates 0, and Phosphates 0. Is this part of the growth cycle? Should I be concerned? The clam is 4" and seems to be thriving on DT's feedings in a moderate flow area of my tank. If something is wrong I would like to correct it as soon as possible. Thank's for any imput.
