Question

Clam Question

Pleae for give my ignorance, but I am interested in adding a clam or more to my tank(filled with mostly soft corals). I know that clams require lots of light . I have a 90 gal tank with 520 watts of PC light . Would that be adaquate lighting to house a clam?
Thanks

hmm..maybe a squamosa high up, but from what I have read, it would be best to have more wattage over your tank. But maybe someone who has..oh...11 clams in their tank might be able to chime in here. heh heh

Chris,

I had Croceas and Derasa under 6 96W PB bulbs and was able to keep them. My Derasas did well, my Croceas did not. I would not try Croceas or Maximas, but you should be able to keep Derasas or Squamosas.

Be advised that both can get quite large.
