The first two pictures are of the exhalent siphon (where it puts water out) and there is not a good picture of the inhalant siphon (mouth).

Is it possible to get a picture of the Gaping? Or are you referring to the exhalent siphon?

The new growth is really good, that is a sure fire sign that it was, or is happy in your tank.

How long has it been gaping? Sometimes mine will get mad about something that gets in it, and pump constantly plus gape and it would do this until whatever it got is expelled.

If it's been gaping for a few hours, just watch it, if It has been gaping for a few weeks then I would say something is wrong.

Over all the clam looks good, nothing jumps off the screen at me at all.

I'm not an expert but I noticed you have the Derasa on the rocks ... I believe they prefer the sandbed. It does look happy and definitely shows good growth on it's shell though. Just my 2 cents. LOL
