Waiting is a good choice, that fixture wouldnt have enough light for a crocea.

Well I bought my deresa clam from merry hill the pet shop two by two and he was a really weird colour in the shop so I bought it and one of the workers was going to take it home for his tank because no-one was buying it and we wanted to try a clam so we got it home and we acclimated it we didn't drip acclimate we just used a little jug and we put water in it for 2 hours we put it in my fish investigated it and it opened and then kept shutting up natural and in 3 days it had change colour to a light brown with caramel coloured spots and in two weeks time it amazingly turned purple with bluey white spots =) and since then it has stayed the same colour my lighting is a blue strip of LEDs and a blue and White strip of LEDs and white florescent tubes and my tank is 42 gallon my fish are 2x pyjama cardinals 1x banggai cardinal 1x flame angel 1x peacock wrasse also named jewel wrasse 1x cleaner wrasse 1x adaman damsel 1x yellow tang and 2x common clownfish I also have loads of corals and inverts to many to name =)

Sounds cool. If you haven't already, you should start a build thread and get prepared to post pictures in it.

That is a pretty big list of fish for a 42 gallon!

get a double ended halide. i think they come in fairly low wattage. 50 70 or 90 watts i think. i used single ended halide with vho flourescent. i'm old school and refuse to believe that maximas or croceas can live a healthy life without the intense lighting. if you buy an inch and a half to two inch maxima, keep it alive for one year and have anything smaller than a three and a half to four inch clam it is not thriving on my opinion. if you are ok with a clam that is struggling to just survive you can probably keep a maxima for a few years under flourescent lighting only. i know there are a lot of people that won't agree with that but i know the results i've had in clam growth over the years and a 1/4 inch growth ring in 12 months is not what you get from a happy clam. oops, on my sop box again, sorry.
