Clam has stuff coming from outflow

This is the cone shaped part of the clam where the water is exits the clam, I saw several little brown pieces very small about 1/16" each, linked together by some translucent material, is this excess zooxanthelia, looked like there was more in there coming out, or is it waste.. I hope casey can answer this one...

Expelling Zoes can be caused by many things even heat stress its hard to say
you have to take it on an individual case for the cause, obviously they dont need as much zoes to protect them from the uv rays so they let go of some, what type lights are you running and how close are they to them?

Yea I think they didnt need as many zoes so they let go of some. Its not like you hitting them with 400 watt MHs.You should be fine. Just keep an eye on the clam
to look for any changes How big is he? Do you feed him?
