Clam expansion question
I have noticed the past couple of days that my little squamosa, only extends half of his mantle. He extends the both sides of only half of him. The other half seems to stay inside the shell. Anyone ever seen this before? Is something wrong with him? I just took him out and fed him this morning, and he pretty well cleared the water, so he is eating. I examined the shell and could see nothing that might be irritating him. Any thoughts?

2-2.5" I examined him again last night, and I can see nothing on his shell aside from the normal pods. He looks all "pinched" up in his shell.

not a good sign he must have something inside his shell bothering him all you can do is keep checking him and make sure he is up on the rocks maybe move him.

Would a fresh water help him everyone? Right now he is on the sand, I can move him. I did move him close to the glass so I can get really close to him with a magnifying glass. Can't see any critters.

Sometimes the dips just stress them out more it really depends on whats wrong with him that we havent determined yet I am reluctant to recommend a dip yet.

Well, I noticed last night that the area that has not been expanding is starting to expand again. Not all the way..certain areas still look scrunched in the shell, but more of it is coming out. So, whatever was wrong, I pray is going away.
