So when can we see some more pics? Are you tracking his recovery with pictures? So that when he makes a full recovery you can show about how long it took to nurse him back to health for people with similar issues with their clams.

I can't do pics unitl I find that stupid CD, I'm not buying another one, and the programs that came with my Camera either make the picture huge, or thumbnail size.
I should have tracked the progress better, I didn't take any pics of when it was really bad because frankly I thought it was dead, lost cause.
I got a pic or two about half way through recovery, and took one last night too. It is really suprizing how fast this is moving, I've never seen something turn around like this. I would really like to know if it is extending Byssal threads or not, but I don't want to touch it to find out. I am worried about Byssal injury.

Ya definitely, but I don't know, it kinda has me waiting for the other shoe to drop you know?
IME things don't usually go right this quickly, especially with how fragile very small clams often are.
But I'm glad it's looking up, and I have hope for it now,
Whiskey

Good reference that Whiskey wrote here.

Generally T. crocea and T. maxima are rock dwelling clams.

Thanks all! I am happy to report that the clam now looks healthy, I don't see any indication of a problem at this point, which I am very excited about. I can't tell right now if he is extending his Byassal threads at this point, but I'm not going to touch him to find out
I agree with MG, on the rock dwelling clam question.
Thanks,
Whiskey

Update! The clam is still doing well, better than before accually
THe only thing I can see that may be a little off at this point is the inhalent syphon is open a little more than I would concider "Normal" but like people all clams are different, and it's not open enough to be called gaping.
So far so good, no phyto yet, clam under 2" and it recovered from me almost killing it with quarinteen.
I do have another problem though, the place I put it (And it seems to like) is great, but there is alot of monti cap very quickly trying to take over it's territory. I think that a cap encrusted to this clam's shell would definitaly tick it off, so I think it's time to bust up the cap. Only problem is the cap is growing only about 1" away from the rock where it meats the clam,....

Thanks! I though he was done too. I'm not sure how nice that problem is at the moment, I would have liked to let my frag get bigger so I could sell it, but oh well.

The only picture I have is when he was first put in Q but it gives a good idea of what were dealing with.
