top off with a heavy mix of pickling lime and water. 1 tablespoon per gallon ought to do it.

The other way is to simply do frequent small water changes with a quality salt that already has the appropriate CA levels. Kent, Reef Crystals, etc.

Mrs. Wages pickling lime is essentially generic kalkwasser. You'll find it in the canning section of some walmarts and also at most country general stores.

agree w/the seachem reef advantage calcium. I also have a oolitic dsb and rarely need to add calcium(at least not the recomended amount) anymore. I hold steady at 450 but some people dont like the dsb so reef advantage it is.its a powder that long outlast the liquis . much more cost effective IMHO

Prestone driveway heat is working great for me! I use it to get my calcium levels where I want them, then dose Kalk in my auto top off. Working like a charm so far.
