can i keep a clam with this lighting?

first of let me say hello this is my first post on this site. i belong to a couple of other reefing sites and just found this one. too much info and help never hurt anyone. as the title states i was wondering if i could keep clams under my lights. i have 4 54w t5h0 bulbs w individual reflectors. i have a standard footprint 55g, can't remember how deep it is off the top of my head. my levels are all good. ammonia, trite, trate all 0. calcium 400, salt 1.026, ph 8.2, can't remember my alk and mag off the top of my head since i'm at work but i do remember they were in range. i can check in my notebook when i go home what they were last time i checked them. thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

A clam will be fine, if it starts to loose color, move it higher in the tank.

I keep a clam down low in my 125 under 6 x 54W staggered with good reflectors...I think you'll be fine given all other clam requirements are met.

You'll be OK with a derasa or squamosa for sure, I wouldn't buy a crocea until you upgrade the lights.

Mine is a Maxima and growing very well and it's virtually on the sand...I think with good indiv. reflectors and good bulbs (I.E. ATI's that have more PAR) you can do a Crocea or Maxima...and as mentioned you can always go a little higher in the tank.
