Another rescue clam.
Well, in my friends tank, since his yellow tang's favorite meal has been removed (the derassa clam from earlier) the yellow tang found a new thing to feast on, his Gigas clam.
My friend has tried putting the clam in different places (basically trying to hide it from the tang) but it has not worked, so before the clam could actually die, I got it.
I brought the clam home last night, and when I got to my house I was surprised to find it sucked a full inch inside it's shell, but it's shell was not closed. It had no reaction to me touching it, being out of the water, the acclimation process or the light which is not a good sign. This morning it looked a little better, mantle in a bit more natural position for lights off, but I am still worried. Hopefully it will come around and re-build the damaged parts of it's mantle, repair the bleached spots in it's mantle, and the little damage to the edge of it's shell but only time will tell.
Visually this Clam doesn't look as bad as the derassa did, nowhere close, but the way it is acting has me allot more worried than the derassa did.

Hope you can "fix" that clam.
Time to fish that YT with a hook and bait. It has bad habits now, who knows what will be next.

My friend has been fishing for that yellow tang for the last 3 months, in fact food on a hook is the only way that tank gets fed anymore. If nothing else he is persistant.

Thanks Kelli!
It was looking allot better last night, it doesn't put mantle over it's shell in all areas yet, but it is putting it over the shell in most areas. It now reacts to light (lights on/off or opening of the hood make it flinch) and it doesn't sit limp at night.
I have high hopes!

Will do!
Last night he was looking about the same, I think he is in a holding pattern right now, trying to figure out which way he wants to go. Hopefully he will get used to my tank and come around.
