Another clam ID


Yeah, I know another ID. I'd appeciate it if you guys would have a look at this clam.
It's a strange one. I think it's a gigas, but on another forum they think it's a squamosa. It's lacking that usual squamosa mantle pattern & the mantle has not yet extended beyond the shell. This goes with my theory that it is a gigas. Also please note the Extra long scutes in the shell. (sorry pic is a little blurry)

Why I do believe you have yourself a nice gigas there. I don't think it looks anything like a squamosa but it sure looks like a gigas to me.

looks like a T. squamosa

gigis have 4 or 5 folds on the shell and I counted 6 on yours, also the scutes look like that of a squamosa
