96 watts?


i lust bought a 10 gallon tankand a 96 watt coral life pc. would that be fine for a squam. clam? i hope so that is why i upgraded. i want a small reef with a clam. also does anybody make a mh hood for a 10 gallon? thanks again.

Well, I would say that you may be able to keep a squamosa although a derasa would be a better bet. I do think that Tridacna do better under a MH. If you do go down the MH road a 70 watt would be more that enough. But IMO most of these clams, if cared for, will out grow a 10 gal so why not go with a larger tank if you are going to spend the money on a MH.

Also if you just setup the ten gallon you should wait at least four months before adding your first Tridacna.
