36" T5 8x39W w/individual reflectors FS

i bought this setup back a few months ago. it is a rather nice setup, but i have decided that i want to go the MH route and get a nice Giesemann fixture. i love those shimmering tanks. this fixture has been able to support clams and sps in my tank so fear not. like the title says, it is a 36" 8x39W unit with individual reflectors on each bulb. there are 4 10K bulbs and 4 blue actinic bulbs that i will be adding for free. This is actually supposed to be a retro t5 fixture, but it is all one solid piece though, so i have it suspended from the ceiling and it looks really nice. i bought good stainless steel gaged wire to hang it from the ceiling, that i will throw in for free. i am asking $300 for this setup (fixture, lamps, and hanging kit). pickup is in boston. i am willing to ship but it would take me a few days to find a box large enough for it to fit in.

Thanks ... I am crazy! I knew I posted this question last night, I just couldn't remember where...now I asked you in 2 places...duh!

Do you feel that this light has given you enough light for growth? How deep is your tank? Where did you get this light as I would need to buy another one the same length...even though it is a retro, did you find that hanging it was ok? How high off of the tank did you hang it?

sorry so many ?s..

Thanks again,
Jenni

haha, that is alright, so many boards with so much information. i do think that this light has provided good growth in my tank. both of my clams have been growing well, which are usually hard to grow with inadequate lighting. i have a deep tank, it is a 92g corner tank that is 24" deep. i have it hanging about 6" off of the water surface. hanging works pretty well for me. i will be hanging my next lights also. i am not sure if i made it clear in my first post, but i am willing to ship this for $300.

Thanks for all the info...I still need to know where you got it because this tank I would be putting it on is a 180 gallon that is 72" long...so i would really need 2 of these...

When did you start using this fixture? (trying to figure out bulb life)

started using the fixture towards the end of september, so less than 4 months use on the bulbs, and t5 lamps don't get changed until about 1.5 years to 2 years.
