Memory - Go to the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. (hopefully its still there) then right click on it and select Properties from the list. After that comes up toward the bottom of the box that pops up, under Computer it will have a bunch of numbers along with RAM etc. Post all of that info.

And since you have Charter, go here, login and download their security suite for free. After install run it and it should clear things up. https://update.charter.com/

Hopefully you have the XP free firewall turned on and have Windows Update set to run automatically?

If not, follow these instructions:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...orking/icf.asp

And run windows update & install all critical updates. You can find it in places like the control panel and a lot of machines can be setup to have it rather obviously in your start menu.

AOL had a pretty bad rep for being a spyware and virus magnet in the past, though their ads _claim_ they are fixing that. If you are using Internet Explorer, I'd recommend giving Firefox a try or setting cookies to a high security level.

With that many viruses and trojans, you will want to run multiple types of anti-spyware programs and a decent anti-virus. Write down what the names of any that show up more than once are and google them. That will usually give you some instructions for getting rid of them permanently.
