Hello Toby Scolet, Welcome to TRT!!!
Ofcourse you can have some of the buttons I mentioned in the membership thread. How many are you willing to take?
What do you have for lighting? Corals? Other tank details?
Who pointed you here?
Nice to see a new face around here.
I am using the two skimmers I have, sorry.

Hey Toby...
Glad to see you found your way here and posted...
I have a Sea Clone skimmer that no longer fits on my tank. It may be a little small for yours - depending on your system. It does need a powerhead though (Maxijet 1200)...let me know...we can work something out.

They are a single type of ringed buttons.

* Offer is good while quantities last to qualified candidates. There are limited quantities of the buttons. Michael S. and affiliates are not responsible in any manner for direct, indirect, special or consequential damages howsoever caused arising out of the taking of the buttons.

I've got a skimmer I'd be willing to part with. It's an AquaC Remora. About six months old. Plus some other stuff for sale also. Lights, RO/DI system, salt. I'll send you a PM. Let me know if you're interested.

Glad you got the advice of our inside guy at Fish N' Pets.
A lot of the people there learned their fishkeeping from product claims in the past, and those claims are often rather... inflated or even outright lies. Maybe it's better now.
With a butterfly fish, I'd recommend against keeping many corals. The fish will eat most of them, and buying regular food is a lot cheaper. Michael's unkillable buttons are probably safe to add though. :lol
Sea urchins are a pretty large group, similar to starfish and they do best in tanks that will have no violent swings in water quality like a new tank often will. I don't know of any off the top of my head that do a poison dump when they die other than sea apples (which are different than sea urchins), but be very careful to check it frequently. Some urchins are very, very venomous and the spines can be barbed, so they will eventually work their way clear through wherever you get one stabbed in.
Now, if one dies in your tank, you'll want to get it out quick for the same reason you don't dump a ton of food into the tank: ammonia. If you put a bunch of, well, meat... in a tank, it starts breaking down and that produces a lot of ammonia, which restarts the tank cycle, generally killing all but the hardiest stuff in the tank with toxic water and algae blooms. The dead zone that happens in the Gulf of Mexico each year (and is credited with driving more sharks to shore) is caused by too much fertilizer coming out of the Mississippi and all the simplest life forms have unlimited food and outcompete the more advanced ones for oxygen.
I recommend at least hitting this site for info before you buy stuff so that you are more likely to know what it needs:
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/marine/index.htm
Bob Fenner and Anthony Calfo are two of the bigger experts in the industry and have a lot of knowledge, even if their site is cluttered. The more you know at the beginning, the easier this hobby is. But, when in doubt, a water change and stocking very lightly on fish is always a good thing until you feel pretty comfortable with what you are doing.

Toby glad you found the site alright, and a belated welcome. I hope everything is going well with the tank so far, it looks as if you've already made friends here. I love this site because everyone is here to help one another succeed...and it looks as if you are already hooked. Have fun, and stop by and talk salt whenever you want.
If you ever want to check out my tank, here's the thread: http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/...ead.php?t=7222

Jason
