May Meeting

As most of you know, our next meeting is scheduled for May 13th. Michael will be hosting. He lives in Byron. I'll leave it up to Michael whether he wants to post directions here or have people PM him for them (mjsandbe)....

I'm not sure what time he wants the meeting to start.

I'll have some frags available (one red sea xenia on a rock with some green star polyps), perhaps some capnella and xenia elongata if anyone wants some.

J.

Hello One and All, You are all welcome here!

Hello all, If you are reading this message, I hope to see you at the meeting

Interested? Send me a PM(private message) for directions. I feel a little odd about pointing out exactly where I live on a public internet site. You crazy reefers know who you are

I am taking votes for the time but in general it looks like we will start between 6 and 7 and end between 8 and 9. If John is not interested in the couple of SPS frags I offered him they will be open for a good home.

Any requests for food and beverage?

Just to remind you all I have a 90 and a 58 gallon so you will not have to talk to me you can just look at my tanks

I will post again with the exact time.

Hmmm, if those frags don't find a home, I know a nice little reef they'd probably LOVE to be on! Of course, it'd probably be illegal to ship them here so we'd need a good cover to smuggle them in. On second thought, with all the butterfly and parrot fish around here, you probably wouldn't want to release them here.

Hope you all have a great meeting.

Cool

Thrilled to see you!!!

Hello Larry, I am thrilled to see you here. Hard not to think of you with that 90 gallon tank sitting in my kitchen.

I have a couple of updates for you. Bad ones first. The male clarkie clown died, very unexpectedly. Everybody else is find and the tank test fine. How old are the clowns? Good news, all of the other fish and corals, are doing great.

So, how is life out there? How is the guest room comming? Are you renting or did you buy that place?

Hi Michael;

Glad to hear you're enjoying the tank (and vice versa!) Those clowns must be in the neighborhood of 4 years old. I'm sure the stress induced on it through my depression of 2000 shortened his life span, too.

Life here is going well. I've pretty much settled in but the guest room is still in need of overhaul. The landlord dinked around paying his contractor so he's reluctant to start working on something that might not pay for a couple of months (who can blame him?)

Anyways, I don't get out snorkelling or diving as often as I'd like (everyday??) but try to do each at least once a month. Life isn't really all that different here than elsewhere other than it's EXPENSIVE and the climate is AWESOME!! I have lots to learn about the local culture and look forward to learning more.

It's been a long day and I'm pretty pooped. Hope to hear/post more soon!
