LFS Prices (Read 'Em and Weep)

Everybody;

I was at the local Pet's Discount store and below are some prices they had on livestock:

Purple Tang $59.99
Raccoon Butterfly $8.99
Millet Seed Butterfly $8.99
Yellow Tang $9.99
Purple Firefish $24.99
Firefish $22.99

There were many more that I can't remember. The one that most amazed me was the purple tang. I asked if it was a misprint and he said no.

Now, to even things out, there's things we can't get here at any price. This list includes:

Anemones
Soft Corals
Imported cleaner shrimp (did I tell the story here of the wild one I encountered diving that cleaned my teeth?)
Most ANY invertebrate

Thought you might like to drool over some of these prices.

Just curious, why don't they allow Softies for sale over there in Hawaii? Do you have SPS and LPS available?

It's a quarantine thing. They don't grow here and they (they being the DNS) don't want to start with invasive species that could upset the balance. The land ecosystem has been pretty much thrown out of whack and they're trying to save the sea.

I thought I'd already shared that! Evidently, when one approaches a cleaner shrimp with their mouth open, the shrimp feels a need to crawl inside the mouth and clean the teeth. It's a very odd experience feeling the little guy dance around inside your mouth picking at your teeth, looking for something to eat!
