Kaua'i Diving Pics

Here's a link to the first set of pics I took diving off Kaua'i. There'd been a lot of recent rain and there was also a simultaneous north AND south swell hitting the island so conditions weren't marvelous. If you see any pics you'd like to see more closely, PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send them to you. Be aware that they're fairly large sized pics so download time may be long, especially if you're using a dial up!

Very Nice Larry! Is that a Wrasse in pics 18-20? Imagine what is to come when you start getting more comfortable with diving with a camera!!!!! Keep 'em coming.

Thanks John. These were particularly hard as there was a constant surge that kept pushing me 3 feet this way then 3 feet that way (for all you non-divers, imagine being a feather floating in a breezy room trying to take a picture). Actually, considering the murkiness and surge (they said it had rained almost daily for 2 weeks and all the run off made it extra murky and the big swells they had stirred it up even more!) I feel like I did a fine job for a rookie! I believe it's some kind of wrasse in pics 18-20 (the small mouth and torpedo body shape are what makes me believe this) but not sure WHAT kind! If anyone can ID it, let me know!

I have a few more from a second dive that I need to touch-up before uploading; they'll be along soon!

Larry, the shots are great. Another way to describe a surge and taking pictures is this. you are on a swing going back and forth and a rare bird lands on a limb 5 feet from you. You now have to try to get the picture but everything keeps moving...and its kinda foggy to boot!

Those pictures will just keep getting better & better as you get used to the camera. I wish I had one...I'm headed to Cozumel in a few days!!!!!

Don't hate me, but this trip to Cozumel filled with diving, adventure and relaxation - is for work! (perks of working at a dive store). My job there is to be divemaster on the dives and help out with any diver problems. Tough gig!

As for my wife Paige, she is a diver but will not be on this trip. We get our trip together in January.
