Intl Marine Aquarium Conf in Chicago

Hey Everybody;

Coming June 4, 5 and 6 in Chicago, IL is the International Marine Aquarium Conference. It looks like a great opportunity to rub elbows with some of the big names in marine aquaculture! It's only a 6 hour drive from Rochester; perhaps some of our club members will want to make the trip! Below I've pasted the specifics with a listing of who's speaking and some of the companies that will be providing exhibits of their products. It really looks like a who's who in the marine aquarium world!!

Do you know it is less than 2 months to IMAC (International Marine Aquarium Conference)? It will be held in the beautiful Holiday Inn O’Hare in Chicago June 4, 5 and 6. That’s a different hotel than last year, with a great layout. The speaker rooms and the Exhibit Hall are right next to each other. If you enjoyed IMAC last year, we’d sure like to have you back.

It’s already shaping up to be a really great conference with some of the best speakers, such as:

Eric Borneman,
Dr. Ron Shimek,
Dr. Clyde Tamaru,
Mark Schick,
Dr. Charlie Mazel,
Jeff Mitchell,
Dr. Tim Hovanec,
Marc Lamont,
Dr. Sanjay Joshi,
Scott Michael,
Steve Robinson,
Anthony Calfo,
Beth Ann Panocha,
Walt Smith,
Bob Fenner,
Tullio Dell Aquilla,
Adam Blundell
Dr. David Meyer,
Randy Reed,
and Allen LaPointe.

We have now received all their abstracts and we now have a schedule posted. If you did not attend last year, you can get an idea of what goes on at the conference by looking at the streaming videos of portions of Dr. Shimek’s, Eric Borneman’s, Julian Sprung’s and Richard Harker’s presentations on the website.

And we have exhibitors such as:

Marineland
Perfecto Mfg.
All Glass Aquarium
Aquatic Eco Systems
Harbor Aquatics
Fancy Publications
A Splash of Life
DT’s Phytoplankton
Reed Mariculture
Phishy Business
Seahorse Breeders Network
Hikari Foods
Aquatic Research and Development
Aquarium Hobbyist
Chicagoland Marine Aquarium Society
Tropical Fish Hobbyist
Reef Central
Reefs.org
Seahorse.org
Premium Aquatics
Syngnathid.org
Reef Fanatic
Dirk’s Reef
Coral Reef Aquarium
Aquarium Obsessed
Kent Marine
Oceanic Systems
Tunze
Ocean Nutrition
Seachem
PaleoSearch
EcoSystem Aquarium
GlassCages
Frags.org
PFO Lighting
IEPC Ballasts

who have already signed up! That is already many more exhibitors than we had last year, with more to come. And we are spacing out the speakers so attendees will have more time to visit the exhibits. This year we already have a lot of livestock and dry goods dealers and you know they don’t want to take stuff back with them, so there will be a lot of great deals. All Glass Aquarium has just upgraded their Grand Prize for the
IMAC Raffle to a 120 gallon complete set up. Check the website for other items that have been donated to the raffle.

So hurry over to www.theimac.org and check out the changes we have made to the site. Currently, registration is just $150 for the full 3 day conference, including Speaker Presentations, Banquet with special speaker, a Huge Trade Show, Speakers’ Reception and Raffle and we have a room rate of only $93/nite, with free transfers to/from O’Hare airport. And daily and student tickets are now available. Registration goes up in price in just a few weeks so don’t delay. Don’t miss IMAC which will be the event of the year for reef hobbyists and dealers!

Hmmmm, I think I know who you're talking about. A little "stone"-headed he can be.

Would like to go, but will be in Houston instead...
