Has Anyone in Rochester Treated for LRB?
I have happily ignored the LRB in my SPS tank since I discovered them many months ago. I have not noticed any real damage but I think it may be time to take care of the problem. Has anyone in Rochester (South East MN) treated for LRB?
Thanks for your imput,

I'd PM Derek (otolith)...he's a good guy and has been through this. He's in the Cities...

Yep, that will bring me full circle. Derek (otolith) was one of the people that described LRB to me.

You need to buy Interceptor - pills used to deworm dogs. It will kill the LRBs. You can buy it from 800-petmeds. Or, call a local vet. I know some people have a tough time explaining to the vet how they will be using the med. I know if you go to RC and search for Interceptor, you will find people with extra that they will give or sell. Good luck - treat carefully.

Thanks, as of half a year ago it sounded like I would be able to work through Derek (otolith) to get some. Since Interceptor is by perscription only it can be a little hard to find extra. I am not too worried, no real hurry. Like I said before these have been in my tank at least months and months and i can't really tell the differance.

How do you know you have them?
call Doc Predmore at the Predmore Vet-clinic.
He will Rx for you, as this is a legit use.
good luck.

Many moons ago I posted about tiny (and I mean barely visible) orange dots moving around on a few of my SPS. After a lot of reading and posting it was determined that they were the "LRB" (Little Red Bugs) that other reefers had run into. This seems to have been a big deal up in the cities. I ignored it for quite some time because I did not see the need to use an experimental treatment to kill bugs in my tank when I had spent years trying to build up other critter/bugs in my tank, especially when I did not see any real negative effects from the LRB. Since I am considering getting back into trades and giveaways I thought I would be responsible and clean up any possible problems before I get involved with other reef keepers again.
oyam123: How do you know PREDMORE VETERINARY CLINIC 6527 54TH ST SE ROCHESTER 507-282-5858?
I still need to go out and review the latest material on LRB to know dosing and such.
