Free SPS Frags to Good Home

I have some frags created in my move last month. I currently have frags of my orange SPS(monit?) and my blue tip acro. I would like to get these out of my tank to start making room for the others

Let me know if your are interested in them.

No, I do not have any pictures. You mean you don't remember all of the corals in my tank?

I would like to try an SPS in my setup. Let me know if we can get together. I could always take a road trip south.

Your tank sounds a little young for SPS. That being said it sounds like a nice setup that is past its inital cycle. It is past cycling right?

For a tank that young I would be willing to give you the blue tip acro. It has shown itself to be a very hardy SPS. The orange monti has shown itslef to be more picky and I would not feel right giving that to you yet.

The blue tip frag has two growing tips on it each arm being 2-3 inches long.

Let me know if you are interested.

Hey Michael....

I'd love a frag of the orange monti....I have two green monti frags from John...but no orange....

Any chance you'll be in town early this week? Stacey and I have some rock coming in from gulf-view.com and I'm wondering if I could borrow one of the rubbermaid containers? A smaller sized one if you have one....

Thanks!

Jodi

Jodi

In town? I work here.

Sure you can borrow the tub, thanks for letting me know you were ordering rock

You can have the orange monti any time you want it. Maybe you could just stop over and pick up both. It should only be a 15 min drive for you. Would be good for Noodle(puppy) to meet more people too.

Some of the coral frags I have gotten from Michael!

I know Michael, you probably wanted a pic of the tri color, just did not want to be photogenic and get in focus! All he has done is encrust, no real upward growth. How do you like how huge that purple rim cap is!

hate to tell you this acoustic, but I have started two new tanks in the last month cleaning out all my extra frags!! Finally got everything out of the sand! Tank is looking sharp again! Gave them away to two beginners! I am a firm believe in giving the extra frags away, unless one is just sooo spectacular that you cannot give it away!

Michael, Stac here (the new girl on the block), do you still have a frag that would work in my tank left. Initial cycling is done with nitrites & ammonias at 0, but nitrates are at 10 still?

I would not be willing to pass on my SPS into your tank but I would be willing to give you at least on soft coral frag. Xenia, mushrooms, buttons or something. Can you tell me more about your tank setup? Have you joined the club while I was not looking? FYI: I will not be checking this board the rest of the week so do not be disappointed if I do not get back to you until next week.

No, joined last meeting, came with Duane. Tank specs: 30 gal, running a Filstar XP2 canister, CPR abckpac, 36" 2x96 PC ( 10K actinic, 10K daylight) and 1 powerhead. There is 45 lbs of liverock,4 fish, and 4 corals. Tank has been set up for 2 months. One of each: perc clown, yellow clown goby, royal gramma (who often messes with the cat),and one blue green chromis. From Jodi: Bubble coral, med frag of pulsating xenia, 1 mushroom, and a small frag of star polyps. Oops, forgot...2 seahorses that have survived nitrate spikes from hell, 2x daily water changes due to Nitrates and 1 very inexperienced reef wanter, they were a gift from the sister. We also have a cleanup crew of snails, hermits, 1 brittle star and 2 cleaner shrimp. Lots of goodies on the live rock from gulf view, and a few aiptasia the I blasted with vinegar as directed by Jodi. Worked fantastic. Best rock I have yet to see! Substrate is 3.5" of crushed coral and some(very little) sand. Lots of bugs form Jodi's frags and Duane gave me a cup of sand in the beginning to start me out. This was our "bargin" tank from Brinks(display tank) when it was going out of business. They tore it down in front of me and sent me home with a van full of questions and learning experiences. We started with nitrates so high that the color wasn't even on the chart. If I knew then... Nitrates 0, nitrites 0, amonia 0 at this mornings test! This project is my boys, we homeschool, and this is biology! Would be interested in the shrooms, what color are you sporting? The one I have is redish. Have xenia. Buttons would be fun, saw the ones you gave Jodi, they're cute. Whatever you think is best will be grand. Hope to catch you soon, Stac
