Question

Any new stores?

Is there any new stores in the Rochester (besides Petco and F&P), Austin and Owatonna area? Anyone know if Hobbies & Pets is still open at the Medford Outlet?

There is a small store in Mantorville. A & P Aquatics. They have a small supply of fish and critters, but nice looking stuff. The owner does mostly the maintenance of other people's & businesses tanks...and the store I think suppliments that. My living room is bigger than the entire store there.

I'm still new so I may be way off on this...but if you know what you are looking for and what to look for...it might be a good option.

If you find a good place let me know we can carpool or something? if you wanted. I have a truck to haul anything in also.

I here that there is a good guy up by the cities, a couple of others have been there???

A guy from World of Fish told me about that one at medford mall and they relocated to the downtown area. there place was pretty small and not set up all the way ( No Salt Water Anything ??) I do have his card around here someplace, Sounded like a he knew what he was talking about and was going to set up a salt water section. He said he breeds alot of his fish and corals also . that was a couple of months ago.

If you are looking for interesting places do not forget about Dirk in RedWing, he is sort of a store. He actually just posted in this forum about the TCMAS meeting

I have been to Dirk's a half dozen times or so. Dirk's is the best though I like some place close if I need to splurge in a hurry. PS; there is a new store in Owatonna that just started up. They are possible getting some salt water stuff next week. They are cycling their tanks now.

From what they told me they are kitty corner from the fair grounds (nw corner) by the salvation army. If you take the main exit into Owatonna (from 14) head north to first stop and I think it is across from Taco Johns? 507-451-2825 is their phone.

I can't find his card, I think it was the same number as before ??? or they gave the new one.

If you are coming from rochester you take that first exit into town.
there is an old pizza hut turned into a pharmacy (I think or was I installed there alarm system) go down that main road that you exited on, about a mile down the road there is a small strip mall on your left ( if going north ). not hard to find

think it was still the same name also.

Hope it helps, again if somebody wants to go let me know i would like to ride with or I could drive also, or where ever I was thinking about going to that JNS or maybe that one in Red Wing.

Micheal I will be cutting down some more trees when I can find a chain saw. don't know what kind of tree it is but I was told it would be good fire wood (maybe oak can't remember ??) If you wanted it I could through it in the truck sometime for you not alot but maybe a truck load or 2

As far as local guy's go Jerry (JnS) who frequently posts on TCMAS has very good quality stuff.
One store that wasn't mentioned was Sea Dreams in Savage. They change management a while back. They carry predominantly LPS (good for me), their pieces are LARGE and of good quality. You won't get any deals there though.
Personally I've been buying more stuff on the net-better prices and selection.

Talking

Scott: The Firewood thing sounds pretty sweet. If at all possible when you are cutting it down could you cut the pieces 18" or smaller? I can split wood but If I have to cut it for length it gets to be a real pain(I only have a hand saw). Thanks for remembering I am looking for wood!
