what size hole?

Well i'm sick of trying to take pictures through scratched glass in my 10g nano and a new 10g is 10.00 at walmart (i love nano) and i'm gonna go ahead and drill this tank for an overflow and sump (old 10g) What size hole should i make and where could i get a good bulkhead and over flow box or do you think i could make one? I'm pretty good with plex so any sug welcome but right now i mainly need to know what size hole. I'm gonna using the dremel method using the tile bit. Any other sug before i go break a new 10g =)?

You can make the overflow box your self. http://www.barraquatic.com/overflows.htm or I could make one for ya. BH's you can get anywhere, LFS. I would install it with a 1.5" BH, this way you will get the flow needed and you can always reduce down on the back side. Tools you willl need - table saw for accurate cuts, router mounted as a shaper to cut the teeth and some solvent, Weld-on #4.

I'm not sure if you know this setup- kind of like a durso but it's nice and quiet. Using a "T", the leg (bottom of the tee) will go to the BH (so you will need this to be threaded) the bottom side of the "T" (now facing down) will go to the sump. The top you will need a cap or plug and either cut a slot in it for air adjustment or add a small air valve.

good luck

oh ok....you'd drill it anywhere between 1.5" - 1.75". Should definitely fit a 1" bulkhead fine.

I wouldn't even think of drilling before I had the bulkhead in hand. But then I am Mr. "measurement-challenged"

pretty much any bulkhead you buy will tell you what size hole it requires. buy the bulkhead first, then drill the hole.
