vinyl hose plumbing question

I want to go from a 1" hose to a 1" hose and a 1/2" hose.

I've seen 1" T barb fittings, but I haven't seen any type of reducer from 1" to 1/2". Also, I'd rather do a Y instead of a T. Anyone know of a supplier for such parts, if they even exist?

Marine Depot has some:

Locally, you might try Lowe's or Home Despot, or Menard's

marinedepot has a Y that looks like it would work, but I'd still need to find a 1" to 1/2" barb fitting reducer

I don't know if you'll be able to find a premade piece for that, you may mave to combine a few pieces....

You'll probably need to find a male adaptor that will screw into a female adaptor of the appropriate size

For what its worth, i recommend going to flexible pvc and just use regular slip fittings. You can then change any line to any size you want at any time. I use it everywhere unless i have a special need to do a perfectly straight run...then i will use normal pvc piping. That way i dont have to search for all of these different parts whenever i am building or messing with anything.....what i use is ALWAYS the right type of fittings. If its something that needs to come off just add a union.

my $.02

I really like flexible pvc and employ it in my system. The problem is that I'm installing a coralife turbotwist UV filter that only has vinyl hose connections. in retrostpect, i would have rather gone with a unit that used standard pvc fittings.

a 1" to 1/2" barb reducer shouldn't be too hard to find. I KNOW that True Value carries them, or can order them in a few days.
