Guess I didn't tank a pic but...
Here is the top of the stand:
And here is a shot of the tank in place. You can see the 1/2" foam under the tank:

i used the softer foam, this time, but have used the harder foam before. i found the harder (blue) stuff is great for less than 1/8" deviations, but the thicker softer white stuff does better for larger deviations. 3cm is a lot. that is like over an inch. that is pretty big.

So it's 3/8 of an inch? That's better, but with the silicone issue

2.54cm=1inch.
therefore 3cm is over an inch.
then again if you are looking at the tick marks on a ruler that measures inches than the problem is either 3/16" or 3/8" like HOP suggested.
no worries,
G~

Tank is out of lever by over an inch?
Can 1/2" foam actually correct that deviation? Seems a bit excessive, no?

adding the foam is a great idea. i would however water test the tank first before redoing the silly cone. that way you can be sure the adhesion between the panes is good.

it would be better if you could find the correct bulkheads for those holes, level the tank and then fill it up for a few weeks to make sure that the seams are good. it may take several days for the water pressure to find any weak spots in the seams.
