top off system

does anyone know how to make a automatic top off. i thought about a float valve but cant find one anywhere.

i have done several DIY auto top offs. both using float switches and float valves.

here is a float valve. these work if the top off water is coming in at a constant pressure. i had mine connected to my incoming house water.

float switches are a bit easier to work with. they can be used to turn on and off pumps. either water or air pumps depending on which delivery method you would like to use.

i made one with afloat valve and a 10gal tank. put the tank up and over from the sump. drilled a small hole in the bottem. So no pump needed gravity does all of the work.
