There are some silicones that contain Mold Inhibitors and other things that can potentially poision a tank,.. those tubes also say 100% silicone,.. You can use hardware store silicone, but you just have to be carefull to get one that is safe

thanks man.The stuff at the hardware store is safe, there are no mold inhibitors at all.I checked the tech data on there site, these guys put the word aquarium on the tube then the price goes up 100%.here in BDA is difficult to obtain(locally)the gear to set up a marine system.the livestock we collect ourselfs at our own discretion,we have to apply for a collectors licence and bla bla bla.so the doityourself is the way togo for us,Ilove this hobby,it keeps me out of the pubs.Hey wiskey you have over 17000 posts, what are you opinons on a 55 gal sump, the lay out Imean.or do I have to startanother post?cool runnin
