Question

Supporting LR

I’m looking for any ideas on how to support the LR off the bottom of a glass tank that I plan to re-set up as a bare bottom tank?

Here's an easy enough way, eggcrate and 1"PVC attached with cable ties. This is my rock cycling, but in the display all the plastic will be hiden.

What did you use to hide the eggcrate in the finished view!

Is there a way you can modify your eggcrate/PVC support system to allow the LR to slope UP and to the rear?

zip-ties. you can use zip ties wrapped around the eggcrage and the LR. that way it will not slide off of the egg-crate. corraline really like plastic, so it will encrust pretty quickly.

Now that's an idea! connecting the LR to the eggcrate will also prevent it from falling, Which is another concern of mine with a bare bottom tank.

Yea I'm going to use starbord if I can find it! If not I'll just use white acrylic.

I'm just getting ideas of how to support the LR! I may even try to include a closed loop into the support system?

Here's my support, going to put wood looking contact paper around the bottom of the tank to hide the support. I also drilled two holes in the pvc pieces so that the tie wraps where threaded through them make them nice and square to the eggcrate.
